Brescia University is a private Catholic university located in Owensboro, Kentucky, approximately 107 miles southwest of Louisville. Founded in 1950 by the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph, the institution maintains a liberal arts focus with a commitment to career preparation. Encompassing a close-knit campus environment, Brescia offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with a notable emphasis on social work, business, and education. While the university maintains a broadly inclusive admissions policy, it is selective, placing a premium on academic achievement and personal character. Residential facilities are available for students seeking an on-campus living experience. Although Brescia is not primarily recognized for its athletics, it supports a number of collegiate sports teams, known as the Bearcats, which compete in the NAIA River States Conference.
