Southwestern College, established in 1885, is a private Methodist liberal arts institution located in Winfield, Kansas, approximately 40 miles southeast of Wichita. The college's suburban 85-acre campus boasts a blend of historic and modern architecture with dedicated facilities for arts, sciences, and professional studies. Known for a broad curriculum, Southwestern provides a variety of undergraduate programs with notable emphasis on education and business disciplines. The application process is moderately selective. Southwestern accommodates residential students with on-campus housing options. While it offers a range of extracurricular activities, the college does not have an emphasis on athletics that would distinguish its programs at a national level.

Southwestern College is ranked 453 nationally in the CollegeSimply.com 2024 U.S. Colleges Ranking.
