Indiana University Southeast, a regional campus of the Indiana University system, is located in New Albany, Indiana, directly across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. The suburban 180-acre campus features modern academic buildings and wooded areas on elevated terrain overlooking the Ohio River valley. Established in 1941 as an extension center before becoming a full-fledged IU campus in 1968, IU Southeast serves primarily commuter students from southern Indiana and the greater Louisville metropolitan area.
