Joliet Junior College (JJC), established in 1901, holds the distinction of being the nation's first public community college. Located in Joliet, Illinois, approximately 45 miles southwest of Chicago, JJC serves a diverse student body offering a range of associate degree programs, occupational certificates, and transfer programs. The campus exhibits a mix of modern and traditional architecture, providing a contemporary learning environment within a historical context. Among its numerous academic offerings, JJC is particularly known for its culinary arts program.
