Illinois College is a private liberal arts college located in Jacksonville, Illinois, approximately 30 miles west of the state capital, Springfield. Established in 1829, it is one of the earliest colleges founded in the state and holds the distinction of being the first college in Illinois to award a degree. The campus, characterized by a blend of historic and modern architecture, spans across a 80-acre site providing a quaint, collegiate atmosphere. Illinois College offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate programs, with a focus on the liberal arts and sciences. The institution is moderately selective in its admissions process. Students have the opportunity to live on campus, with a variety of housing options available.
