Kennesaw State University, located in the northern Atlanta metropolitan area, operates across two campuses in Kennesaw and Marietta, Georgia. The public institution began as a junior college in 1963 and expanded into a comprehensive university following several mergers, most notably with Southern Polytechnic State University in 2015. KSU maintains a suburban setting with modern academic facilities and residential communities spread across both campuses, which are connected by a dedicated shuttle service. The university offers more than 170 academic programs, with particular strengths in engineering, business, education, and nursing, while operating the largest engineering technology program in the state. Students can choose from multiple on-campus housing options on both campuses, and the university competes in NCAA Division I athletics as the Owls in the ASUN Conference.
