The Georgia Institute of Technology, commonly referred to as Georgia Tech, is a public research university situated in the urban heart of Atlanta, Georgia. Established in 1885, the institute has a rich history of technological innovation and education. The main campus is recognized for its distinctive architecture that melds modernist designs with traditional collegiate gothic structures. Georgia Tech has a highly competitive admissions process and is renowned for its rigorous academic environment, particularly in engineering, computer science, and business programs. The Institute also offers a comprehensive campus housing system that serves a significant portion of its large student population.
