Fort Lewis College sits on a mesa overlooking the town of Durango in southwestern Colorado, with views of the San Juan Mountains. Originally established in 1911 as a Native American boarding school, the institution evolved into a four-year public liberal arts college and continues to honor its historic commitment to Native American education by offering tuition waivers to qualified Native American students.
