The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a public research university located in the urban setting of Birmingham, Alabama. Established in 1969 when the University of Alabama Extension Center was merged with the Birmingham Medical College, UAB has grown into a comprehensive institution known for its medical and health-related programs.
