Stillman College, a private historically Black liberal arts institution founded in 1876 by the Presbyterian Church, is located in western Tuscaloosa, Alabama, approximately 60 miles southwest of Birmingham. The 105-acre campus features a combination of historical and modern buildings, anchored by Sheppard Library and Winsborough Hall, which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Operating as a four-year college since 1948, Stillman maintains selective admission standards and offers bachelor's degrees with particular strengths in business administration, biology, and teacher education. The college provides on-campus housing through six residential facilities and competes in NCAA Division II athletics as the Stillman Tigers, primarily known for their baseball and basketball programs.
