Huntingdon College occupies a 65-acre campus in a residential area of Montgomery, Alabama's capital city. Established in 1854 as a Methodist-affiliated women's college in Tuskegee before relocating to its current location in 1909, the institution is known for its red-brick Georgian-Colonial architecture and landscaped grounds featuring centuries-old oak trees. Now a co-educational liberal arts college, Huntingdon offers undergraduate programs with particular strengths in business, teacher education, and pre-professional health studies. Students are required to live on campus for their first three years, and the college maintains an NCAA Division III athletic program where the Huntingdon Hawks compete in the USA South Athletic Conference.
