Bishop State Community College is a public two-year institution located in Mobile, Alabama, with its main campus situated in the heart of downtown Mobile. The college operates across four campuses throughout the Mobile metropolitan area, including the Main, Baker-Gaines Central, Southwest, and Carver locations. Founded in 1927 as the Mobile Branch of Alabama State College, the institution was renamed in 1965 to honor its first president, Dr. Sanford D. Bishop. The college offers associate degrees and certificate programs with emphasis areas in health sciences, technical education, and workforce development, while maintaining transfer agreements with regional four-year universities. Campus facilities include technical training centers, health sciences laboratories, and the recently renovated Baker-Gaines Central campus which houses the culinary arts program.
