Wisconsin Lutheran College is a private Lutheran institution situated in a residential area of Milwaukee's west side, approximately 15 minutes from downtown. Founded in 1973, the compact 47-acre suburban campus features modern academic facilities and residence halls constructed primarily during the 1990s and early 2000s. The college maintains its religious affiliation with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and offers liberal arts programs with particular strengths in business, education, and nursing. Students are required to live on campus for their first two years unless they reside locally with family, and the college competes in NCAA Division III athletics as the Warriors, primarily in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
