The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is located in River Falls, Wisconsin, approximately 30 miles east of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Established in 1874 as a teachers college, the 226-acre campus combines modern academic facilities with historic limestone buildings in a small-town setting. The university operates two laboratory farms that support its comprehensive agricultural programs, which include animal science, agriculture business, and dairy science. While UWRF offers more than 70 areas of study across four colleges, it is particularly known for its College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, and its teacher education programs. The university maintains traditional residence halls housing primarily first-year students, with apartment-style options available for upperclassmen, and competes in NCAA Division III athletics as the Falcons.
