Carthage College, founded in 1847 and affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is a private liberal arts college located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Positioned on the Lake Michigan shoreline, the campus is about halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago, offering a scenic lakeside setting that compliments its distinct collection of Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture. The college enrolls roughly 2,500 full-time undergraduate students, providing an intimate academic environment with small class sizes and a student-to-faculty ratio that encourages personalized learning experiences. While Carthage offers a range of more than 50 majors and minors, it places a unique emphasis on interdisciplinary study, undergraduate research, and is recognized for its science programs and the innovative Carthage Symposium for freshmen. The institution maintains a moderately selective admissions process. On-campus living is an integral part of the Carthage experience, with a variety of housing options available to students.
