South Seattle College, part of the Seattle Colleges District, occupies a 87-acre campus in West Seattle's Highland Park neighborhood, approximately 20 minutes from downtown Seattle. The campus features a mix of modern and mid-century buildings set on a hillside with views of the Duwamish River and Olympic Mountains. Established in 1969, the institution serves as a comprehensive two-year college offering associate degrees, professional-technical programs, and certificates, with particular strength in aviation maintenance, culinary arts, and wine studies programs. The campus includes professional training facilities such as an aviation hangar at Boeing Field, professional kitchens, and the Northwest Wine Academy, which maintains its own teaching vineyard. While the college operates as a non-residential campus, it provides extensive student support services and maintains an international student program.
