Shenandoah University is located in Winchester, Virginia, situated in the northern Shenandoah Valley approximately 70 miles west of Washington, D.C. The main campus spans 129 acres and features a mix of historic and modern buildings, including the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre and the Health & Life Sciences Building. Founded in 1875 as Shenandoah Seminary in Dayton, Virginia, the institution moved to Winchester in 1960 and achieved university status in 1991. The university is known for its performing arts programs, particularly in music and theater, as well as its health sciences offerings, including nursing, pharmacy, and physical therapy.
