Shenandoah University is located in Winchester, Virginia, situated in the northern Shenandoah Valley approximately 70 miles west of Washington, D.C. Founded in 1875 as Shenandoah Seminary in Dayton, Virginia, the institution moved to Winchester in 1960 and achieved university status in 1991.
