Randolph College occupies a historic 100-acre campus in Lynchburg, Virginia, situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Originally established in 1891 as Randolph-Macon Woman's College, the institution became coeducational in 2007 and adopted its current name. The campus features distinctive red brick buildings in the Classical Revival style, centered around a grassy quadrangle known as "The Dell," and maintains a traditional residential college environment where students are required to live on campus for their first three years. Academic programs emphasize liberal arts education, with notable strengths in the sciences, creative writing, and environmental studies. NCAA Division III athletics and equestrian programs are integral components of campus life, with the college maintaining its own riding center and competitive equestrian team.
