New River Community College (NRCC) is a two-year public institution located in Dublin, Virginia, approximately 5 miles from the small city of Pulaski and about 40 miles southwest of Roanoke, nestled in the New River Valley. Established in 1959, NRCC offers a wide range of associate degree programs, certificate programs, and career studies certificates with notable emphasis on areas such as information technology, engineering, health sciences, and business administration. These programs are designed to prepare students for direct entry into the workforce or for transfer to four-year institutions. The campus is characterized by a modern architectural style and provides resources that support a technology-infused education. While NRCC primarily serves as a commuter college, it facilitates a conducive learning environment through its various labs, libraries, and student support services. Admission to the college maintains an open-door policy, typically welcoming all applicants with a high school diploma or an equivalent. NRCC does not offer on-campus housing. The college focuses on academic and technical instruction without a significant emphasis on intercollegiate athletics.

New River Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,372 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,608 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $4,620 plus fees of $77.
