Hampton's main goal is to make you professionally equipped and ready to succeed when you leave and they do an excellent job at that.

Plain and simple it?s overpriced. Academics are good, pretty sure they?re better than most HBCUs and colleges in general. Some professors will look out and others don?t care which is okay, but there are some that I get the vibe that they want me to stay and spend an extra semester at Hampton. Campus atmosphere is cool, a lot of ?hey what?s up? from people I don?t know and a lot of cool vibes. Housing definitely needs improvement to say the least, either bland or downright old and bad. Safety is good for men for women I definitely suggest bringing small weapons like anywhere in life. Its sad and we need to do better as a unit but it is what it is for now until we change it. Student life can be very lit or very boring, Sundays are rest days and every other day can be something cool or some mid. Party life is pretty wild on certain occasions but generally never anything crazy unless its a momentous occasion.

The school is steeped in tradition with a great campus atmosphere. Wish the school was located in a major metro area, but other attributes make up for the location.

Hampton University is truly the Real HU. It is a wonderful school filled with history and a great legacy. So much excellence on one campus!!
Prospective Student
Food is horrible. Its a shame that a historical black university can't serve good food. Campus itself was old and musty. There were beetles/cockroaches coming into the showers! The professors were nice and engaging and the campus is in a very safe location overall. However, these few good points cannot overcome the fact that I would NEVER, never recommend this university to anyone.
