Utah State University Test Policy

Test Submission Requirements

Utah State University is test-optional for first-year admission in the 2026-27 cycle. First-year applicants are reviewed on high school GPA, and ACT or SAT scores are considered if you submit them. Students with a 2.8 or higher GPA are admitted in good standing without tests; applicants below 2.8 may still qualify in good standing with a qualifying GPA and test combination. Official scores must come from ACT or the College Board or appear on an official transcript. USU uses the highest ACT composite from a single test date, does not require ACT Science, and still recommends scores for academic scholarships.
