I graduated high school in Pennsylvania and came to Tech as an incoming freshman. While it?s expensive for out-of-staters, everything else about my time at Texas Tech was amazing. The community, the atmosphere, the school spirit, the safety of the college town, the small class sizes?I loved every minute of it.

After moving to Lubbock and attending school full time, I can?t believe I spent money to attend Texas Tech. Students here lack a complete sense of reality and view outside the panhandle. Compounding this small-mindedness is an overwhelming absence of maturity and ambition. I guess you don?t have to act like an adult when your parents pay for everything, the school turns a blind eye to a ton of misconduct, or you can buy answers for everything. It?s even acceptable for students to sleep with their professors for grades. That is very fitting conduct for a school in the worst city in America that breeds racism and strife. It?s impressive just to drive 20 minutes and not almost get taken out by a drunk teen or a junkie. When you are not driving, you must worry about your house being broken into by the endless herd of transient laborers. This is not a place with a great academic atmosphere, and for just a little more, you can attend school somewhere nice.

I loved it! I had a lot of fun at parties and drinking

I am a graduate and hope my children will go to Tech. I have a good degree, it?s helped me become gainfully employed. Unfortunately, the university did not help me find a job. Or they did not have good relationships with employers, unless you were in the Engineering college, all other colleges...not so much.

Large university but worth the price if student is in-state.

Texas Tech is a great university to attend and Lubbock provides all the amenities you will find in larger cities but still feels like a college town.
