Texas A&M University-Commerce, established in 1889, is a public research university located in the rural town of Commerce, Texas, approximately 65 miles northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Serving a diverse student body, the university maintains a moderate level of application selectivity and offers a variety of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. While the university boasts a broad array of academic offerings, it is particularly known for its emphasis on business, education, and agricultural programs. The campus is characterized by a blend of traditional red-brick structures and modern facilities, including residence halls accommodating a significant proportion of the student population. Texas A&M University-Commerce is part of the Texas A&M University System and embraces a research-intensive environment while also supporting the athletic pursuits of its students, with its teams competing as the Lions in the Lone Star Conference.
