Texas A&M University's main campus, located in College Station, Texas, sits approximately 90 miles northwest of Houston and serves as one of the largest public universities in the United States. The 5,200-acre campus features a mix of modern and historic architecture, with many buildings showcasing the distinctive Spanish Renaissance Revival style that dates back to the institution's 1876 founding as the state's first public institution of higher learning. As a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant university, Texas A&M maintains strong academic programs in engineering, agriculture, business, and veterinary medicine, while also housing the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. The university maintains a significant military tradition through its Corps of Cadets program, and its NCAA Division I athletic teams, known as the Aggies, compete in the Southeastern Conference, with Kyle Field serving as home to one of college football's most established programs.
