St. Philip's College, situated on San Antonio's east side, is one of the oldest and largest historically Black colleges in Texas and the only college to be federally designated as both a Historically Black College and a Hispanic-Serving Institution. Founded in 1898 by the Episcopal Church as a sewing school for young African American women, the institution evolved into a comprehensive two-year community college within the Alamo Colleges District. The urban campus, which includes both a main location and a Southwest Campus focused on technical education, offers associate degrees and certificates across fields including culinary arts, aircraft technology, manufacturing, healthcare, and cybersecurity. St. Philip's maintains an open enrollment policy and provides extensive student support services, with students having access to both on-campus resources and partnerships with local industry for practical training opportunities.

St Philip's College is a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) primarily serving the African-American community.
