Upon entering the university I discussed my desired career with an advisor who placed me in a degree pathway that was NOT meant for my desired profession. I simply had faith in where I was placed and the coursework was close enough to not have raised suspicion. As a recent graduate, I now have a degree I cannot use and no leg to stand on as my correspondence was purely by phone. The university refuses to provide me details I have requested surrounding this error. Do your own research and be prepared to be met with incompetence rather than professionals. Maybe then your experience will be worthwhile.

I've went to Lamar University for 3 years. I will graduate next year. No matter what, you cannot get in contact with any of the career advisors if you are an online student. They also may change your degree plan if they decide too which will add another semester onto your degree plan.

If you are looking to be a teacher, nurse, scientist, police officer, civil engineer, or other job that does not have an upper end salary, then this is an exceptional school to get you qualified without getting into major debt. Not a party school, but a very friendly environment. Staff is helpful and classroom sizes are usually small.
