Howard College

Howard College, established in 1945, is a public community college located in Big Spring, Texas, approximately 40 miles east of Midland in the Permian Basin region. The main campus encompasses 120 acres in a residential area and features traditional brick buildings designed to complement the West Texas landscape. The college operates additional instructional sites in San Angelo and Lamesa, serving students across a 13-county region. Howard College offers associate degrees and certificate programs with particular emphasis on health professions, workforce training, and transfer programs aligned with regional economic needs. The institution provides on-campus housing options in two residence halls and maintains intercollegiate athletics programs, competing in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference of the NJCAA.
