Financial Aid is always messed up. In Fall 2025 all students who applied were erroneously awarded financial aid. 2000 students had to appeal their awards. Who appeals an award in order to keep it when they have already accepted it? Emeritus students (65+) are supposed to get free tuition, but they were dropped for non-payment and had to re-register 4 times. Workday didn't have the older degree plans, so students were put in the wrong classes and pulled out of classes that they actually needed for graduation. That caused students to get stuck for additional semesters before they could graduate. Workday listed many students as out of state / out of country erroneously and they were charged much higher tuition. Trying to fix residency status was a nightmare. Certain music professors used their status to push students into taking dozens of excess credit hours. This exhausts financial aid and can land students into out of state tuition when they transfer. Students under Accessibility Services often have to deal with professors that refuse to follow their ADA accommodations. Faculty, students and staff are afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation. Dallas College is a disorganized predatory mess. The communication is abysmal. We need a new board that will provide oversight and get things fixed!

The college has professors that do not follow ADA accommodations. There are often issues with financial aid. Some professors do not share materials with the on campus tutors and then award zeroes to work done with the campus tutors. The Richland Campus Choir director tries to make everyone a music major and puts students into dozens of excess hours that will not transfer, but do exhaust financial aid and put students into our of state tuition. Communication is not good and it is very difficult to get help.
