Freed-Hardeman University (FHU) is a private Christian university located in Henderson, Tennessee, roughly 90 miles northeast of Memphis. Founded in 1869, the institution has a rich history rooted in the Churches of Christ tradition. The university?s character is defined by a picturesque campus known for its classical-style architecture. Offering a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, Freed-Hardeman is particularly recognized for its emphasis on liberal arts education and professional degrees with notable programs in business, education, biblical studies, and the fine arts. FHU maintains a moderately selective admissions process, seeking students who align with its academic and spiritual values.
