Morris College

Morris College is a private, Baptist-affiliated historically Black college located in Sumter, South Carolina, approximately 45 miles east of Columbia. Founded in 1908 by the Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of South Carolina, the institution occupies a 40-acre suburban campus featuring traditional brick buildings and modern academic facilities. The college maintains a liberal arts focus with bachelor's degree programs in business administration, education, criminal justice, and religious studies, while also offering specialized programs in organizational management and mass communications. Morris College operates as a residential campus with several dormitories for student housing and requires most first-year students to live on campus. The institution competes in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division I, fielding teams in men's and women's basketball, cross country, and track and field.
