Ursinus College is a private liberal arts college located in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, a suburban setting approximately 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Founded in 1869, the college occupies a 170-acre campus known for its inviting, red-brick Collegiate Gothic architecture. Ursinus offers more than 60 majors and minors with a strong emphasis on undergraduate research and interdisciplinary studies. Particularly recognized for its science programs, Ursinus has a notable Health and Exercise Physiology Department and is also home to the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art. Student housing is a significant aspect of campus life, with a variety of residential options including traditional dormitories, suite-style accommodations, and special interest housing. The college maintains a holistic and moderately selective admissions process. Although Ursinus is not principally known for its athletics, it competes in Division III of the NCAA as the Bears, offering a range of sports programs for student-athletes.
