Awful, awful place. 4 years of trash liberal views

As a former graduate of HFU, I am very grateful for the solid education received and the upbeat atmosphere. I was an RN who returned to school to obtain my BSN. Having graduated from the high school that shares the same campus, Holy Family was not my first or fourth choice. I entered for practical reasons? 5-minutes from work and school as I continued to work as a Critical Care RN throughout college. I eventually came to appreciate and enjoy the four years spent there and feel that I certainly received an excellent education. I never boarded and had little time to engage in the social scene due to my intense work-school schedule. I do take issue with the reviews suggesting unfair grading parameters. HFU has always set a higher bar than many universities when it comes to grading. However, I found that Philadelphia area universities respect the fact that HFU has a tough grading system reflecting their high standards. It?s known that even a respectable ?B? from HFU equivocates with an ?A? at other institutions. It makes gaining acceptance into a post-graduate program a lot easier given the school?s reputation.

Holy family is very nice. The staff is kind and helpful. It has a very accepting and relaxed and happy atmosphere. Not everyone is catholic so don't feel pressured. It's noticeably different from other campus moods. I personally didn't think the academics were very hard, but the grading system is ridiculous and stupid. I was prevented from getting an A twice because I had a 93. Overall though I've met a lot of nice people and I would recommend this school.

Holy Family is a great school if you like to do nothing and pray. Their grading system sets you up for failure. For example, an 82 isn't a B... it's not considered a B until it's over an 86. And as far as an A goes, it has to be above a 94. This school is expensive and lacks the modern technology a lot of other universities have. I wouldn't recommend. If you're looking for a school in Philly, try Temple or Chestnut Hill.
