I loved my four years at Gettysburg. Campus is beautiful and adjacent to town of Gettysburg, which has everything a student could need. Food is as good as you will find at a college. Social life was driven by Greek life, and some townie bars, so if that is not your thing you could find it limiting if that is not your thing. This is not a city school or a big state U, so if that is wha you are looking for it is probably not the place for you but I loved it. Kids are generally sporty and social. Academics are top notch and challenging, but I left a much better student than I arrived. What really makes Gettysburg is the people and the alumni network. Gettysburg truly changed the trajectory of my life for the better.

As a parent of a current Gettysburg student, I could not be happier than I am with the school. From my very first visit, I just was so pleasantly surprised at how happy all the students I met seemed to be with the school. It is set in a beautiful town which even if you are not a civil war buff and I am not is still a nice town to walk around in. The campus is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen and I have seen many. As far as safety, the scariest moment in my sons three years there was one morning when somebody reported a gun fired they found out it was somebody throwing a stack of newspapers off the back of the truck. I dont think you will find a safer school. Its got great school spirit with a lot of decent sports teams and I remember after my son did an overnight I asked him if he liked it and he replied "whats not to like" He has had an amazing three years there. The athletic center is incredible and state of the art. just cant say enough great things check it out.
