Bryn Mawr College, located in the suburban Main Line area 11 miles west of Philadelphia, is a private women's liberal arts institution established in 1885 as one of the Seven Sisters colleges. The 135-acre campus features Collegiate Gothic architecture, including notable gray stone buildings and expansive green spaces that reflect its Quaker heritage. A highly selective institution, Bryn Mawr maintains a strong focus on STEM fields alongside traditional liberal arts disciplines, with particular strengths in chemistry, mathematics, and archaeology. The college requires students to live on campus for all four years in historic residence halls, fostering its residential college tradition, and participates in the Tri-College Consortium with Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges, allowing students to take classes at all three institutions.
