Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech), located in Klamath Falls, Oregon, holds the distinction of being the only public polytechnic university in the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1947, Oregon Tech offers a hands-on educational approach primarily focused on engineering, health technologies, applied sciences, and business. The campus, situated in a serene rural area with a view of Upper Klamath Lake, entrenches students in a natural setting conducive to outdoor activities, with the larger city of Medford approximately 60 miles to the west. Oregon Tech prides itself on small class sizes, fostering an environment rich in faculty-student collaboration. Without using outright quantifiers, it's notable that Oregon Tech maintains a moderate level of application selectivity. Renowned for its academic programs in Renewable Energy and Health Sciences, the university extends its living-learning environment through on-campus housing options. While athletics are not the prominent focus, Oregon Tech competes in the NAIA, with their teams known as the Owls, which have made their mark in basketball.

In the most recent statistical year 4,570 prospective students applied, and 4,231 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 463 enrolled in the school.  2,164 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,747 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $10,002 plus fees of $2,120. OIT is ranked 481 nationally in the CollegeSimply.com 2024 U.S. Colleges Ranking.
