Oklahoma City University occupies an urban campus in the Uptown district of Oklahoma City, approximately three miles from downtown. The private Methodist-affiliated institution, established in 1904, features a mix of modern and historic buildings across its 104-acre campus, including the distinctive Gothic-style Gold Star Memorial Building. OCU maintains a selective admissions process and is recognized for its performing arts programs, particularly in dance, music, and theater, as well as its Meinders School of Business and law school. The university provides traditional dormitory and apartment-style housing for students, with most first-year students required to live on campus. OCU's athletic teams, known as the Stars, compete in the NAIA Sooner Athletic Conference.
