Langston University, established in 1897, is a historically black university situated in Langston, Oklahoma, with additional campuses in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Approximately 42 miles northeast of Oklahoma City, the university offers both rural serenity and proximity to the amenities of a major urban center. Langston University holds the distinction of being the only historically black college or university (HBCU) in the state of Oklahoma. The university presents a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate programs, with notable emphasis on Nursing, Education, and Business disciplines. Its open admissions policy reflects a commitment to providing educational opportunities to a diverse student body. The campus, which promotes on-campus living with its residential facilities, exudes a close-knit community atmosphere. Architecturally, the campus features a blend of historic and modern buildings that encapsulate its rich heritage and contemporary growth. While Langston University does field athletic teams known as the Lions, it is primarily recognized for its academic programs rather than its athletic prowess.

Langston University has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,748 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 155 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $4,429 plus fees of $2,210.
