The University of Cincinnati-Main Campus, located in the urban center of Cincinnati, Ohio, is a comprehensive public research institution with a diverse student body. Founded in 1819, the university stands out with its blending of contemporary and historical architecture, most notably the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies designed by Frank Gehry. Alongside its traditional and suite-style residence halls fostering an integrated living-learning environment, the university offers a range of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs across more than 300 areas of study. The institution is moderately selective in its admissions process. Prominent for innovation in cooperative education, the University of Cincinnati is also recognized for its prestigious College-Conservatory of Music and the School of Architecture and Interior Design. While the university does have NCAA Division I athletic teams?known as the Cincinnati Bearcats?it is particularly noted for its men's basketball and football programs.
