Student and Parent Reviews
If you are a student, former student, faculty member or parent, please help guide other prospective students by sharing your personal experiences at this college. What is it really like to go to Oberlin College?
Parent
My child was very happy at Oberlin. The academics were challenging and the varied course offerings were endlessly interesting. The professors were easily accessible. I gave it three stars for value for money because the college is hopeless when it comes to helping students enter the world of internships and the workforce. It does not even have ties to the local Cleveland area in any meaningful sense. I put in my two cents on the dating, social life, party, bar scene, and student attractiveness based on what my child told me about their experience at Oberlin. The school is small and the dating pool somewhat limited. You can always find a party if you are looking for one, but there are lots of fun things to do instead of party. The students are generally physically fit. Make-up is optional.
Alumnus
It has a very diverse student body. Students come from all across the country. Campus was very progressive. Professors were very approachable. I loved my time at Oberlin. It helped me in my formative years. Most students go on to get their graduate degrees. MD, Ph.d, etc.
Alumnus
Great school. Very academic and socially aware. Much more difficult than my elite law school.
