Lake Erie College, established in 1856, is a private liberal arts institution located in Painesville, Ohio, approximately 30 miles northeast of Cleveland. The College is set in a predominantly suburban environment and comprises a campus noted for its Gothic architecture, specifically the historic College Hall which dates to 1874. Lake Erie College offers undergraduate, graduate, and online programs with a focus on personalized education, and is recognized for its equine studies program, among other liberal arts and professional disciplines. The institution provides on-campus living options in residence halls and townhouse-style accommodations. While Lake Erie College maintains a moderately selective admission process, its student-enrollment size allows for a more intimate educational setting. The college fields a variety of sports teams, known as the Storm, but is not distinguished by any particular athletic dominance.
