Kenyon College, a private liberal arts institution founded in 1824 and nestled in the picturesque village of Gambier, Ohio, is recognized for its rigorous academic environment and distinctive Gothic architecture. Situated on a hilltop overlooking the Kokosing River, roughly 45 miles northeast of Columbus, Kenyon provides a serene, rural campus atmosphere conducive to scholarly pursuits. Kenyon is known for its strong emphasis on writing and traditions in the literary arts, boasting one of the oldest student-run literary magazines in the country, The Kenyon Review. The college exemplifies academic selectivity, admitting a modest percentage of applicants annually. Kenyon offers a variety of majors, with programs in English, Political Science, and Biology among the most popular. Students are guaranteed housing in a range of residential options throughout their tenure. While not primarily recognized for athletic achievements, Kenyon College does participate in NCAA Division III sports as the Lords and Ladies, and has achieved distinction in swimming and diving.
