Antioch College

Located in Yellow Springs, Ohio, approximately 20 miles east of Dayton, Antioch College operates as a private liberal arts institution in a rural setting. The 1,100-acre campus features a mix of historic Victorian-era buildings and modern facilities, including the Science Building and the Glen Helen Nature Preserve, an ecological research area. Founded in 1850 by the Christian Connection religious movement, Antioch pioneered its distinctive cooperative education program, which requires students to alternate between academic terms and full-time work experiences. The college, which temporarily closed in 2008 and reopened in 2011, maintains small class sizes and offers interdisciplinary programs with concentrations in arts, sciences, and humanities. Students are required to live on campus for their first year in one of three residential halls, and the college operates as a work college where all students participate in the campus labor program.
