If you are most concerned with the academic sector of college then I do not recommend UNCW. The professors, campus, and students are not of high quality. Would recommend attending another college as UNCW is only attractive as it is located on the coast.

Aside from slight littering, UNCW is a beautiful, campus with a lot of opportunities for students to get more involved. It is somewhat isolated from the rest of the city, so it is generally safe, however this also makes food and living much more expensive. Resources are available for students, albeit hard to find. However, if you take the initiative and talk with your professors, the dean's office, and your advisors, accommodations can be made if necessary. Most professors care deeply about their field and students, however, there are a few exceptions, particularly for 101-level science courses. Parking policies, class registration, and Housing can be difficult to navigate, but information about almost everything is available on the website.

Great school in a beautiful coastal setting. Business, nursing, education and marine biology are superb undergrad programs.

This school wasn't worth it to me personally. It seemed like they just cared about giving student parking violations all the time and only taking care of school grounds. We were charged an insane amount for mediocre education. I wish I would have made a decision of doing online school, or maybe even going to one of the community colleges. There was no empathy or rapport from faculty here, you were just a number.
