Bennett College, a private historically Black liberal arts college for women, is located in Greensboro, North Carolina, approximately 75 miles west of Raleigh. Founded in 1873 and becoming a women's institution in 1926, the college occupies a 55-acre suburban campus characterized by Georgian-style architecture and historic buildings. The college focuses primarily on undergraduate education, offering programs in STEM fields, social sciences, and business, with particular emphasis on its journalism and media studies department. Bennett College maintains a small, residential campus community where students are required to live on campus for their first three years, and the institution operates as one of only two historically Black colleges in the United States exclusively for women.
