Students are enthusiastic about science with a quirky flare. Very academic and focused on school.

My daughter freshmen student of RPI loves her college! As a parent I really like her dorm, Compare with other colleges we visited for my son and daughter I've see a lot of different dorms, RPI has one of the best leaving arrangement. Campus is beautiful with great landscape. RPI gives good scholarship and grant that makes it more affordable, girls might get more than boys that explains by 70/30 percent ratio to attract more girls.

Course load is challenging and course content is manageable(Use the TA's!!! Most professors can't offer the same kind of help the TA's can which could be the way you learn.) In terms of academic rigor, the school isn't that hard. It's simply the abundance of knowledge you have to take on so quickly. Discipline is an absolute must have. Housing sucks and its expensive. A lot of opportunities. You can do whatever you want here. Treat RPI like a tool to your success.
