Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem of America (MTJ) is a traditional Orthodox Jewish yeshiva located in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Established in 1907, MTJ is one of the oldest continuous operating Orthodox Jewish educational institutions in New York City, offering both undergraduate and graduate programs in Talmudic and rabbinical studies. The urban campus consists of a main study hall (beis medrash) and classroom facilities housed in a historic building on East Broadway. The institution primarily serves male students pursuing advanced Jewish theological studies and rabbinical ordination (semicha), with many students participating in the traditional yeshiva learning model of intensive text study and religious scholarship. MTJ maintains separate divisions for high school, undergraduate, and post-graduate studies, continuing the Lithuanian-style (Litvish) tradition of Torah study.
