The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) is located in Manhattan's Morningside Heights neighborhood, adjacent to Columbia University on New York City's Upper West Side. Established in 1886, JTS serves as the academic and spiritual center of Conservative Judaism in the United States, offering both rabbinical training and graduate-level Jewish studies programs. The urban campus consists of several interconnected buildings, including the recently renovated library which houses one of the world's largest collections of Judaica and Hebraica materials. The institution focuses on Jewish scholarship, religious leadership training, and advanced degree programs in areas such as Jewish Studies, Jewish Education, and Sacred Music. Students at JTS have access to cross-registration opportunities with Columbia University and can utilize campus housing in the institution's residential tower.
