JCC is known for a diverse range of associate degrees and certificate programs, with notable emphasis on liberal arts, sciences, and technical fields. While the college maintains an open admissions policy, implying a relatively non-selective application process, it emphasizes individualized attention to meet the educational goals of its students. On-campus housing is available, providing residential students with the convenience of living close to academic and administrative resources. Jefferson Community College does not have a notable intercollegiate athletic program, which allows the institution to focus on academic offerings and student services.
