This school is not well known and underrated. The Professors are absolutely top-notch at Hartwick. The smaller class sizes helps students stay more engaged and creates a more inclusive learning environment. One drawback is the school does not have an engineering program. There is a high percentage of the student population that participates in either Division III or Division I sports at the school (~40% in 2008). This also reflects the high caliber of the coaching staff on the campus. The town of Oneonta loves its college population (SUNY Oneonta also located there). There are plenty of watering holes in Oneonta, when you are of age and wish to burn off some steam in the evening. Many students will organize bands and play at some of the bars (e.g., The Gentleman Outfit). If you need a break from the bar or it's not your thing, there is also the Pine Lake Campus which offers a wide variety of outdoor activities for Hartwick students. The campus itself is beautiful. A must visit!!
