The University of New Mexico Valencia County Campus, a two-year branch campus of UNM, is located in Los Lunas, approximately 30 miles south of Albuquerque along the Rio Grande corridor. The campus occupies a 150-acre site of desert landscape with modern academic buildings designed to reflect the region's southwestern architectural style. Established in 1981, UNM-Valencia serves students in Valencia County and surrounding communities, offering associate degrees and certificate programs with emphasis on business, liberal arts, and health sciences. The campus maintains a transfer-focused curriculum that allows students to complete their first two years of study before transitioning to UNM's main campus or other four-year institutions. While UNM-Valencia operates as a commuter campus without on-site housing, it provides students with access to contemporary classroom facilities, computer labs, and a learning resource center.
